When Hassan and Layla touch the Rock, they are transported into a world of learning.
This is the narrative promise behind The Old Rock, a children’s animation project led by Iheb and supported as part of the QLM Kids development dynamic.
On June 24, QLM Media will be at the Annecy Festival to pitch the project to animation professionals, partners, coproducers and international broadcasters.
This milestone marks an important step in the development of QLM Kids, QLM Media’s segment dedicated to children’s, educational and animated content.
A children’s project born from a support and development process
The Old Rock reflects the ambition behind QLM Kids: to help original, sensitive and culturally rooted children’s stories emerge, while combining narrative, visual and educational value.
The project already reached a first international milestone after being selected as part of the TACIR partnership, followed by a first pitch at Animasyros in Greece. Its journey now continues in Annecy, with the valuable support of the Institut français at every step.
For QLM Media, this trajectory confirms a strong belief: children’s stories from Tunisia and the Southern Mediterranean have significant creative, educational and international potential.
QLM Kids: developing stories for children, families and future audiences
With QLM Kids, QLM Media aims to develop content for children and young audiences, extending the editorial DNA of QLM: making ideas accessible, sparking curiosity, encouraging learning and telling stories with clarity, imagination and sensitivity.
QLM Kids will explore several formats, including animation, educational content, visual storytelling, short series, narrative projects and formats designed for children, families, educators and broadcasters.
In a media environment where children’s content plays a key role in shaping knowledge, imagination and representation, QLM Kids aims to contribute to the emergence of new voices, new characters and new creative worlds.
A presence in Annecy to open new collaborations
QLM Media’s presence at the Annecy Festival is part of a broader international development strategy.
Beyond the pitch of The Old Rock, QLM Media will be in Annecy to meet partners, coproducers, broadcasters, institutions, studios and professionals interested in discovering new voices in children’s animation.
This presence is also an opportunity to present the wider ambition of QLM Kids: to develop children’s content that can travel across audiences, territories and uses, while building on QLM’s editorial ecosystem and audience reach.
A new step for QLM Media
Since its creation, QLM Media has developed educational, visual and accessible content around society, science, culture, economy and education.
With QLM Kids, the company is taking a new step: applying this approach to children’s content by supporting projects that combine learning, storytelling, emotion and visual ambition.
The presentation of The Old Rock in Annecy is therefore more than a project pitch. It reflects a strategic direction for QLM Media: to invest sustainably in children’s content and animation, in collaboration with local and international partners.
QLM Media will be in Annecy on June 24 to present The Old Rock and connect with animation industry professionals interested in children’s stories from Tunisia and the Southern Mediterranean.
